Sick COVID patients have been forced to find ways to treat themselves at home as hospitals are choked with the surge in the number of cases and a shortage in oxygen supply during this deadly second wave of the pandemic.
Many patients are struggling to find the right care at home. To support severely ill patients with the treatment they need, GiveIndia is working towards setting up of COVID Care Centres in locations such as Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Chattisgarh and will expand to other locations based on increasing need on the ground. These centres will be fully equipped with quality care services to treat mild and moderate (non-ICU) COVID patients.
We are also setting up ‘transit’ centres where COVID positive patients - who are either asymptomatic or have mild symptoms - can isolate, away from homes that are cramped for space. This will protect their families from being infected with the virus and help stop the spread.
Your contribution can help set up fully equipped COVID centres comprising all facilities and equipment required. These include beds, oxygen cylinders and concentrators, doctors, nurses, and trained admin staff. A transit centre will provide a safe space to recover with accomodation and food.
Join this mission to provide proper care to critical patients, reduce the spread of the virus due to unsupervised home treatment and also help India’s healthcare infrastructure cope with the crippling effect of COVID’s second wave.
